Denver weather: First snow of 2024 on the way later this week Denver’s first snow of the new year is right around the corner.After a warm start to 2024 with temperatures expected in the 50s Tuesday, a cold front moves into the state Wednesday and will likely bring with it some snow Thursday afternoon and evening.The Wednesday forecast has a high of 46 degrees and Thursday’s forecast has 35 degrees. Low temperatures on both days are 23 degrees.Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder expect the mountains and the Palmer Divide south of Denver to receive the most snow, but Denver could get as much as 2 inches of snow Thursday night.Denver has a 40% to 50% chance of snow between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday.Forecasters warned what snow does fall could result in potentially dangerous and slick driving conditions.Denver will warm up slightly Friday and Saturday, with highs in the low 40s, but high temperatures will get below freezing by Monday as the next, potentially much bigger, snow system moves through the state.Related...
