Nuggets hold on to eliminate Timberwolves in Round 1 DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Nuggets advance to the next round of the playoffs after a 112-109 win in the final seconds of Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.The Nuggets had a slow start, trailing by 15 points in the first quarter and rallying to trail by 7 by halftime. The team stayed in a close game against the Timberwolves into the fourth period, when they blew a tight lead in the final minutes of the game. The Timberwolves kept the score neck and neck until the Nuggets made key shots to retake the lead.It was a tight showing for Denver, who led the series 3-0 until Minnesota took an overtime win in Game 4 in Minneapolis.This series marked the first time the Nuggets reached a 2-0 playoffs lead since 2009.
