DENVER (KDVR) -- On Sept. 18, Nolan Smith was working his job as a patrol sergeant for a local security company when he came up to a situation where he said he knew he needed to help. “I pull up about to go onto site and I hear some pops and a loud car crash," Smith, a former EMS and military medicine member said. 1 killed, 2 hurt in Denver shooting, car crash Smith shared his story of that night exclusively with FOX31. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Denver Police Department has asked for the public's feedback on safety in the city to tailor efforts in each neighborhood.The survey will be conducted independently by Jacqueline Helfgott, Director of the Seattle University Crime and Justice Research Center. A Halloween Grinch took off with a bag full of packages from a front porch in Southwest Miami-Dade.A Ring doorbell camera captured the thief as he took Halloween costumes and more from Sarahi Willis’ home on Southwest 276th Street, Friday afternoon.The subject rode a bicycle to the front of the residence and, with a plastic bag in hand, began to fill up with packages. There was danger on the job for a tow truck driver who, police said, came under fire in Miami.City of Miami Police units responded to the scene of the shooting at a business in the area of Southwest 10th Terrace and 27th Avenue, just after 3:20 p.m., Sunday.Officers arrived to find the 22-year-old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Officials with Miami Fire Rescue said crews rushed the patient to Ryder Trauma Center in serious but stable condition.Witnesses told 7News the shooter took off.The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
