Two people were in custody and a third person remained on the run Wednesday night in connection with an alleged armed carjacking in Randolph and a subsequent police chase, officials said.The car theft happened Tuesday night. The police chase followed on Wednesday and ultimately spanned multiple jurisdictions, according to Randolph police.“That’s scary and terrible,” said area resident Leah Martin Wednesday afternoon. Randolph police said officers were first called to Francis Drive around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed robbery. Once on scene, police said, a 40-year-old man told investigators his car had been stolen by three men. One man was reportedly armed with a gun. The other had a knife. Hours after Tuesday night’s response, on Wednesday, police said officers spotted the stolen car driving through town and tried to stop it on North Main Street. A young girl is on the mend after she was one of four children taken to the hospital following a van crash at her day care in Foxboro Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at the Hockomock Area YMCA, with a van ending up embedded inside the facility’s child watch room.Still shaken up on Wednesday, the mother of 7-year-old daughter Jayla Onwuakor spoke to 7NEWS about the incident . “I saw the van and then I saw my daughter screaming, crying and then bleeding,” Juri Love said. Officials said the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday involving a van from an organization which runs houses for those with intellectual disabilities.Police and fire officials said injuries were minor, mostly resulting from broken glass. An investigation got underway Wednesday after a postal worker was attacked and robbed in Randolph, police said. The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. inside the Rosemont Square apartment complex. In a statement, police said two male suspects assaulted the worker, stealing a mailbox master key and leaving the worker with injuries to his ribs and side. Police said the suspects were wearing masks and dressed in all black at the time of the attack. The investigation into the incident was ongoing Wednesday night involving both the Randolph Police Department and US Postal Service investigators. A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening, Toronto police officers say.A Toronto Police Service post on social media said emergency crews were called to the intersection of Wynford Drive and Wynford Heights Crescent, east of the Don Valley Parkway, just before 7:45 p.m.The initial police statement said the man was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
