The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Jill Szwed.Happy Monday! A significant late season winter storm is on the way. If you still need to do some snow day preps, there is still time. It's rain in the valleys and lighter snow for the mountains during the day.The storm will quickly ramp up tonight. The entire News10 area is now under a Winter Storm Warning between this afternoon and Wednesday morning. This high impact, long duration winter storm will hit us with heavy wet snow and gusty winds, which will lead to blowing snow. Power outages are expected.After rain during the day, the switch to snow will quickly happen around midnight. The majority of the snow will fall between midnight and midday Tuesday. Again, this is a heavy wet snow. Roads will become dangerous, if not impassable. The wind will pick up too with gusts of 35 mph to 45 mph.The weight of the heavy wet snow will stress already compromised tree branches. The takeout and delivery restaurant was supposed to open on Wednesday, March 15, but is now opening on Wednesday, March 22 due to the impending snow storm. ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Highway Patrol confirmed that one of the officers involved in a Sunday night shooting has died.Detective Sgt. Mason Griffith was identified as the officer shot in a tweet from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. HERMANN, Mo. - Two police officers were shot Sunday night, and a suspect is believed to held inside a home.Broken glass and gunshots were heard coming from a second floor window. "Come out with your hands up and nothing will happen to you," could be heard over a bullhorn.The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a man named Kenneth Simpson shot two Hermann police officers. Troopers and other authorities have been outside the homes located on Market just off 11th asking Simpson to surrender for the past four hours.35-year-old Kenneth Lee Simpson is about 5'10 and around 180 pounds. He has hazel eyes and red hair. Simpson was driving a black 2014 Jeep Wrangler with Missouri license plates RF5A0P.The shooting happened just before 9:20 p.m. at the Casey's on Market Street.
