SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Amsterdam man has been arrested in connection to a robbery that occurred at the Ben and Jerry's in Saratoga Springs, according to police. Daniel McKay II, 40, faces multiple charges. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox! On September 3, officers responded to 34 Phila Street for a report of a robbery. Police say McKay allegedly told a store employee that he was robbing the store, and implied he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed. McKay then reportedly took a quantity of cash from the register and left the store. No one was injured during the incident. FERGUSON, Mo. - A Ferguson man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead overnight in a backyard.Just before 2:30 a.m. Monday, officers from the St. Louis County Police Department received a call to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 7400 block of Blanding Drive, according to a probable cause statement.Officers discovered the body of a woman covered in plastic, as well as a bedsheet, a wheelbarrow, tree branches, and a comforter. RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo. - A five-year-old has died after the vehicle in which he was a passenger ran off the right side of the roadway, hit an embankment, and rolled over.The report from MSHP said the five-year-old girl was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. A new ordinance passed by the Perris City Council aims to limit the amount of junk food displayed at the checkout aisles at grocery stores.City Council members passed Ordinance 1423 in February, and it went into effect in July.The ordinance requires grocers larger than 2,500 square feet to provide healthy food or beverage items as the “default” selection at checkout aisles, a news release said.
