Gabe Kalscheur finished his ninth pre-draft workout Monday at home in the Twin Cities. His time with the Timberwolves marked his last scheduled workout of the grueling pre-draft process.Amazingly, through it all, the thing Kalscheur seemed to lament the most about his hectic schedule is the lack of … more gym time.“I love staying in the gym and staying sharp on my craft,” the Edina native and DeLaSalle alum said. “Obviously, we’re getting in work here, but you’re working out for maybe an hour and a half, and then it’s off-court stuff and then you’re back at the hotel. So, that part is kind of hard, kind of different for me. But you just adapt to it. It’s the NBA, it’s pro life, and you’ve got to adapt.”Kalscheur — who spent his first three seasons with the Gophers before transferring to Iowa State for his final two years of college — is a worker. Above his shooting prowess and defensive chops, that’s what defines him. That willingness to work has keyed the 6-foot-4 wing’s successes ...Suspect arrested, five killed by speeding driver in Minneapolis identified

ST. LOUIS – Following the chaos of this past weekend’s shooting in downtown St. Louis that saw one teenager dead and 10 others injured, Mayor Tishaura Jones pointed an accusatory finger at parents and others responsible for caring for kids. But one of those helping troubled youngsters says the problem goes much deeper than that.“Downtown is not a 1 a.m. destination for your 15-year-old. It’s a rule I make very clear in my own household, and it’s not a place to drop your children off unsupervised,” Jones said.Dr. Kendra Homes, president and CEO of Affinia Health, says there’s also another side to the story that’s even more concerning. Parental guidance is part of the problem.“Many of these children don’t have parents, they don’t have structure, they don’t have individuals to tell them that is not the right thing to do,” she said. “Also, what we need to do is we need to prevent. We need to provide resources and support and mental health services to prevent those kids from going down t...Veruca Salt’s Louise Post says entire musical collection stolen from trailer in Denver

A section of the Blue River will be closed to all watercraft from the Dillon Reservoir to about Mile Marker 111, near Boulder Creek, Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons said Monday, June 19, due to a downed tree across the entire river. At least three rafts have already crashed into the tree, FitzSimons said, adding that no one was injured. He called the downed tree a “life-threatening strainer” and cited the Sheriff’s authority under Colorado law to close the river for safety reasons.“This is a common occurrence but usually there is a way around it,” FitzSimons said. “This is going all the way across the whole river. A few boats have already been affected by it.”The river will remain closed until further notice. The Sheriff’s Office will either find a way to remove the downed tree or keep the river closed until water levels go down, FitzSimons said.Related ArticlesOutdoors | Moose attacks, injures man in Coal Creek Canyon Outdoors | A Colorado man saved a dog’s life....CU Buffs men’s basketball notes: Committee approach in backcourt could be on horizon

The loss of Javon Ruffin for the entire 2023-24 season might have sent some shockwaves through Buff Nation.Yet within the Colorado men’s basketball program, Ruffin’s fate has been common knowledge since not long after his continuing knee issues kept him sidelined for the season’s final seven games. Head coach Tad Boyle and his staff certainly looked at filling the void at the two-guard, nearly signing former Grand Canyon sharpshooter Chance McMillian. Yet the fact the Buffs ultimately used their final 2023-24 scholarship on a forward likely to redshirt, Bangot Dak, is as much a testament to Dak’s potential as it is to Boyle’s confidence in the versatile array of wings on CU’s roster ready to pick up the slack.Without Ruffin or Nique Clifford, who transferred to Colorado State, the only traditional two-guards on the roster are two players who have yet to play a minute of college basketball — RJ Smith, who redshirted last year as a true freshman, and incoming freshman Cour...Say Hello to Club 3: The Newest “It” Club for the Web3 Community
