I recently got into a bit of an argument with my boss over how I spend my lunch hour. I think we can all agree that some days are tougher than other at the office, and on those days, I choose to take a nap during my lunch hour. We have a break room where people will go to eat or have coffee and on my busy days, I'll go in there, head to a corner and take a nap. I always set an alarm and I never oversleep. However, last week, my boss saw me napping and woke me up and was really ticked off about it. He said the office was no place to sleep. I said it was my time and instead of spending an hour eating, I could eat for five minutes and nap the rest of the time. LOUIS - The St. Louis City Board of Aldermen is poised to give final approval Friday to one of the largest city water bill increases in recent history.The board will meet at City Hall around 10 a.m. and expects to give final approval to a plan supported by a 12-2 vote last week. RED BUD, Ill. - One man is behind bars on felony charges after he allegedly set an elderly man on fire in Red Bud, Illinois over a property dispute. Shawn Porter, 48, has been charged with aggravated battery, obstructing justice and resisting a peace officer in the investigation. Police say Porter has an extensive criminal history and was on parole at the time of the incident. During the dispute, Porter reportedly poured an unknown combustible fluid onto the victim, a 76-year-old man. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition with second-degree and third-degree burns. After the dispute, Porter was engaged in a standoff with police at his home. Porter was alleged to take a hostage, which he released. He later barricaded himself in the home, and it took police several hours to deescalate the situation and arrest him. LOUIS - The company that provides buses for St. Louis Public Schools will host a hiring fair for bus drivers on Friday.The district replaced the First Student bus company with Missouri Central last year in wake of school bus driver shortages. Missouri Central is giving adults the chance to drive a school bus on Friday and acquire training to potentially join its fleet of school bus drivers. CHESTERFIELD, Mo. - The Parkway School District will conduct an intruder training exercise Friday at Parkway Central Middle School.The Chesterfield Police Department, the Monarch Fire Protection District and other agencies will participate in the training. Officials tell FOX 2 that many training sessions will be held around the St. Louis area this summer.
