CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. (NEWS10) - New York would look much different than it does today without all the immigrants and asylum seekers, they make up a quarter of the State’s population. NEWS10 is talking with Capital Region groups who help those seeking a new life and acclimate to their new world. Victim in fatal St. Louis Kitchen shooting identified

ST. LOUIS – We're learning more about Tuesday night’s deadly shooting at St. Louis Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant in the Academy neighborhood of north city.The shooting happened shortly before 9:45 p.m. outside the restaurant, located in the 800 block of North Kingshighway Boulevard.St. Louis police got a call for a double shooting. When they arrived, officers found the victims on the west side of the building, with each suffering from a gunshot wound.One victim, a 56-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound in his leg and was taken to a local hospital. The other victim, identified as Faming Pan, had been shot in the stomach and was pronounced dead at the scene. Pan was in his 30s.A former employee, John Walker, said Pan was a wonderful person and will be dearly missed. BJC Healthcare to merge with KC-based St. Luke's Health System

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis-based BJC Healthcare and Kansas City-based Saint Luke's Health System Saint Luke's Health System are planning to merge and form an "integrated" Missouri-based health system. The two healthcare entities announced signed a non-binding letter of intent with hopes to expand health care access in Missouri and reach more than 6 million patients. New hydrogen hub in Wentzville raises concern for residents  According to a news release, BJC and Saint Luke’s will form a patient-centric integrated health care system to offer advanced, emerging and innovative models of care. Illinois 12-year-old on bike dies in truck collision

SESSER, Ill. - A 12-year-old riding a bicycle was struck by a pickup truck driver Monday afternoon near Sesser, Illinois. Officers were called to the crash on at around 2:15 p.m. They found the 12-year-old suffering from severe injuries. He was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to get treatment and later died at a regional hospital."Prayers for the family and all first responders involved in this tragic incident," states Sheriff Kyle Bacon.Police say that the truck was going eastbound on State Highway 154. The child on the bike was traveling southbound on Circle M Road and did not stop at the intersection. That is when the truck hit the bike.Several people stopped to help first responders at the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and with the help of the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.

Man sentenced to 45 years in prison in Boulder County prostitution, sex assault case

A Boulder sex offender indicted by a grand jury and accused of using drugs and violence to force multiple women into prostitution and paying for sex with a 12-year-old girl was formally sentenced on Wednesday after previously entering into a plea agreement.Randolph “Randy” Clark, 39, pleaded guilty May 5 in Boulder District Court to two counts of first-degree assault, human trafficking and attempted sex assault on a child.
